This video is an edited version of a site-specific performance where a costume creates the situation. It takes place beneath a highway overpass where round uniform cement columns create a sense of anonymous industrial design. I have put myself into this environment wearing a hand-sewn earthy garment teetering on ridiculously tall shoes. It is a video concerning my own history as a transient student paralleling the nomadic patterns of the United States’ population in general. The dark shade of the underpass and the bright light beyond that obliterates vision of the outside world reinforces the endless path through the columns. The sound is the monotonous drone of tires moving over head and also reinforces the sense of ceaseless movement.
